Crow River - The Crow River flows through Watertown and offers recreational opportunities which include fishing and canoeing.
Luce Line Trail - Watertown is the heart of the Luce Line Trail and intersects the Crow River, offering passive and active recreation for residents and visitors. This scenic state trail is located on a former railroad bed, which belonged to the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. The trail offers year-round opportunities for hiking, biking, jogging, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. It begins in Plymouth and travels west through the heart of Watertown to Hutchinson and beyond.

Parks - An excellent park system is maintained with over 42 acres of open space in the city. These parks offer residents a variety of recreational activities, such as walking and biking trails, baseball and softball fields, basketball and volleyball courts, playground equipment, skateboarding areas, skating rinks, picnic areas, fishing areas, ponds, and native vegetation.
The City Council and Park and Recreation Commission are improving the hockey rink and adding a permanent warming house.
Golfers will find six courses just outside of the city: River’s Edge, Timber Creek, Pioneer Creek, Island View, ShadowBrooke, and the private course, Windsong Farms.
